Behind the photos
What goes into every installation
The photos show the finished result. What makes a turf installation last is the work underneath it, which is the same whether it is a small side yard or a large commercial landscape.
Measuring and planning
Every project starts with a free on-site visit: we measure, check drainage, edges and access, and agree the turf and layout with you.
Site preparation
Existing grass, weeds and debris are cleared and the ground is leveled, so the finished lawn sits flat and even.
Base and drainage
A compacted base layer such as crushed stone gives the turf a stable surface and lets water drain away after rain or a rinse.
Seams and edges
Rolls are laid in the same direction and joined so seams are hard to see. Edges are secured and trimmed neatly against beds, paths and pavers.
Infill and finishing
Infill is spread and the turf is brushed so the blades stand up and the lawn looks natural from day one.
Fitting the landscape
Turf is cut around trees, planters, boulders, fountains and pools, as you can see in many of the photos above.
The gallery covers front and back lawns, putting greens, turf between pavers and lawns on slopes. We also install pet turf, playground turf and patio, roof deck and pool surrounds.
Planning
What makes an installation simpler or more complex?
Every installation follows the same stages, but some sites need more work than others. These are the things that change the scope of a project, and how long it takes.
Size and layout
Larger areas, curves and many cuts around beds, trees and planters take more work than a simple rectangle.
Ground and drainage
Clay soil, low spots or areas where water already pools may need extra base or drainage work.
What has to come out
Old grass, rock, roots or worn turf are removed as part of site preparation.
Slopes and hard surfaces
Slopes need the turf secured well, and turf over concrete, pavers or decks is prepared differently from turf over soil.
Access
Narrow side gates, steps or long carries make it slower to bring in turf rolls and base material.
